Belated Birthdays!

Eric celebrated SWEET SIXTEEN on Monday. He is the most amazing guy! I am so proud of him. Eric is seriously my favorite kid. He is an incredible athlete, a talented singer and pianist, and the best snowboarder! I love hanging out with him, and I wish that I didn't live so freaking far away:)! Plus, he can officially drive now! Phew! I hope that your birthday and freaking cool surprise party were awesome!

It was also my sister-in-law Brooke's birthday on Monday. We celebrated with a little b-day dinner tonight. She and Ethan are so happy together, and I am glad that she is part of our family!

Caldwell, Concert, and Celebration

Sometimes I get so caught up in what I want to be happening in my life that I forget to focus on all of the genuinely great things in my life...I'm using this post to identify some of the ways that we are "seriously so blessed."

Earlier this month I spent bulk of the week in Caldwell, Idaho at the hospital that I recruit for, West Valley Medical Center, entertaining physicians through a round of interviews. It was a very successful trip, even better than I imagined. I really love my job, and I have to remind myself how lucky I am to be in a situation that allows me to progress and grow professionally.

Brandon and I purchased tickets to the Lady Antebellum concert at the
Ogden Amphitheater several weeks ago. Eric, Liz, and Ethan and Brooke were able to get tickets and join us for the concert. It was AMAZING!!! Brandon and I were super close to the stage, and Lady Antebellum was seriously fantastic. It was one of the best concerts I've been to. We went a little picture crazy, and I've included a few shots below.

We spent the 4th of July at Brandon's parents' with friends and family enjoying the pool. It turned out to be a great day. Then, we caught the Plain City fireworks with our neighbors, Amber and Darren. I am really thankful for the reminder that Independence Day brings. It is a celebration of the values that fundamentally allow us to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I'm grateful for those who pave the way for us to enjoy the abundance that America offers.

Today, we went to breakfast with my Aunt Kathy and her girls to celebrate Kathy's birthday. She is an amazing lady, and I am lucky that she lives close to me. I sometimes feel like my family is so far away, but I know that I can always count on Kathy for when I just need some "family support." After breakfast, we spent HOURS pulling weeds in our yard...at least we can grow something, even if it is just weeds ;)!
